ACU’s EVERFI Financial Bee

ACU is proud to sponsor the EVERFI Financial Bee, a first-of-its-kind financial literacy challenge geared for students aged 13 – 18 across North America, but open to everyone over 13 years of age. This virtual challenge will officially run from April 20-24, although you will have until April 30th to register and complete the modules, and we want to encourage you and your family and friends to participate! Teachers, this is also an amazing opportunity to provide your students as they learn from home these days.

During Financial Literacy Month, and especially during this time of unprecedented uncertainty, we are committed to helping our members plan for their financial future, support financial empowerment in our communities, and help youth find ways to build savings for post-secondary education. The Financial Bee provides an opportunity for learners of all ages to have some fun and learn critical financial concepts — all from the comfort of home while respecting the need for physical distancing!

The five-day challenge was created by social impact education innovator EVERFI, ACU’s partner in this financial empowerment initiative. Each daily lesson includes important financial topics covering everything from savings, investing, income, debt and more. After completing the lessons, participants submit a short reflection essay in which they share their biggest financial dream and outline a plan for how to get there, and what they’ve learned. From those aged 13 – 18 submitting short essays, three winners will be selected from EVERFI’s Financial Bee to receive up to $10,000 in post-secondary scholarships.

Prizes from Assiniboine Credit Union

Five participants from Manitoba who complete the 5 lessons and submit the short reflection essay will win their choice of a $100 12-month nonredeemable GIC or a $100 gift card for Red River Co-op

How it works
