I’m Lefteri Antonakis. I work with small and medium businesses to arrange financing for real estate, leasehold improvements, equipment, and accounts receivables. I also connect business members to ACU partners such as the retail branches for personal banking advice, Assiniboine Financial Group for investment advice, and Winnipeg Insurance Brokers. I was raised by small business owners and I know firsthand how hard they work and what it takes to operate a successful business. I’ve worked in the financial services industry since 2006 as a personal banking account manager, and as a business account manager. I value teamwork and community building which are align perfectly with ACU. I’m a dedicated father and family man, an avid sports fan, and enjoy playing golf and basketball.

I’m Michelle Hardy. As a Business Account Manager I provide financial services for our business members including financing needs such as commercial mortgages, loans, operating lines of credit, Canada Small Business Financing Loans, accounts and investments. I started in financial services in 2000. My first 10 years were retail sales focused, with the last 10 years in commercial financing. For me, two things are very crucial; the environment and supporting diversity. The serious commitment ACU has made to the environment is extremely important to me, and one I fully support. Outside of work, I’m a busy mom with three older kids. I’m constantly busy going to after school sports and activities. When we can find the time, we love to enjoy the outdoors by going hiking and camping.

I’m Nigel Mohammed. I oversee a team of Specialists providing creative financing to support small businesses, non-profits, co-operatives and social enterprises. I began my banking career with a chartered bank in 1987 while pursuing a degree in Business at University of MB. I left banking and Canada in the early 90’s to work in the international community within non-profit sector for several years before returning to my banking roots, this time with the Caribbean Confederation of Credit Unions. After many years in the Easter Caribbean within the non-profit and financial cooperative sectors across the region, I returned to Canada, joined the ACU team in 2001 and have never looked back! The focus of my work today is delivering banking services in a way that propels social impact, shapes our local economy and builds sustainable communities. I love family gatherings and fishing with my daughters…even on rainy days!

I’m Heather Sadowy. I am proud to be a part of our Community Financial Centre where we specialize in working with non-profits, cooperatives, social enterprises and a variety of small local businesses. Ironically, I never wanted to work in the financial industry specifically, but I did want to work for a company that does good things, and is in touch with our local community. That’s ACU. My time there has connected me with so many other organizations that I’ve gone on to support or volunteer with. I love to travel, I sing in a choir, and I enjoy getting out to see live music. I am always looking for great recommendations for your favourite local restaurants or non-fiction reads.

I’m Jeffrey Patteson. I help small and medium sized businesses, non-profits and co-operatives with their banking, investing and borrowing needs. I give them loans that they need to operate and grow their business. I go the extra mile for members I serve. I’m the type of person that will meet members at their place of business, attend their annual meetings and other events so that I can provide the best financial advice possible. I started in financial services in 2001 with a chartered bank as a Personal Financial Advisor. I switched to ACU in 2007 after an extensive search for an employer with a better values fit. I value integrity, trust, and respectful relationships; and I choose to work at ACU because it is a business that shares these values. Outside of work I’m a Star Wars nerd and I am very involved in the local music festival scene. I am an avid volunteer, for organizations like CEDNet, Rainbow Trout Music Festival, Winnipeg Folks Festival, and Local Investment Towards Employment, to name a few.
Education and Credentials:
Accredited Business Lender through CUIC/Dalhousie University
Founder and the inaugural chair of the Assiniboine Emerging Leaders Committee
Throughout my career, my goals have remained consistent: to find the balance between member’s needs and the needs of ACU. If you think we can work together, call me.

I’m Mihaela Pirlog. Since 2009, I’ve been working in the ACU Community Financial Centre (CFC) dealing almost exclusively with not for profit organizations, co-operatives and small businesses. I have over 25 years of progressive commercial lending experience in the financial industry in Canada and Romania, and I’ve been working in the credit union system since 2001. My background is in commercial lending with experience in the areas of business plan assessment, loan origination, risk mitigation and loan performance monitoring. Being honest and treating people with respect are the most important things to me. I grew up in a household where helping others was something that my parents were very driven by. Education was a key factor while loving and cherishing your family was fundamental. I see these same core values at ACU every day. On my own time, I enjoy traveling, trying new foods, discovering new cultures, and seeing new places. I like being active and spending time outside in nature.
Education and Credentials:
Master’s Degree in Engineering
Accredited Business Lender with CUIC

I’m Gloria Nicol and I’m a Wealth Advisor at the ACU Garden City Branch. During my time with ACU I’ve worked in collections, lending, commercial, and investing. I don’t sell products and I do not measure my success in sales, but rather, by the amount of people I help. I love getting to know people and helping them achieve their goals. I love educating members and fellow staff and often feel I should’ve been a teacher. For over 30 years, I’ve worked hard to establish many close relationships with our members. Whether it’s for retirement, estate, education, tax or budget planning, everyone needs a bit of guidance and advice, and it’s my job to provide that. My values mirror ACU values. I’m honest, caring, and hard working. I love what I do and I strive to do the best I can in everything I do. What we do makes a difference in people’s lives. We’re not a bank, we are member owned, and that sets us apart. I am the secretary/treasurer for the Hiebert Heritage Cemetery and have been for the past 25 years. I volunteer at my local church when the opportunity arises, and with the ACU Workplace United Way campaign. I love to spend time with my family and grandchildren. I love to travel, play the piano, garden and crochet.
