ACU’s Accessibility Service Policy is available to all members upon request, in formats that meet the needs of persons with disabilities.

ACU strives to deliver on its commitment to accessibility in all areas of its operations

Information and communications

When providing information to or communicating with a person with a disability, ACU will, upon request, provide the information and communication in an accessible format or with a communication support.

Accessible service

We strive to provide barrier-free access to our products and services. We welcome and support all persons with disabilities who use assistive devices, support persons or service animals.

Support persons

Support persons are welcome to accompany persons with disabilities as they conduct their business at ACU. At events for which a fee is charged, no fee will be charged for the support person accompanying a person with a disability.

Service animals

Unless otherwise prohibited by law, persons with disabilities will be permitted to be accompanied by a service animal on ACU premises.

Disruption in service

Depending on their severity and anticipated duration, notifications of current and pending disruptions in service will be displayed on premises, posted on the ACU website and recorded on ACU’s interactive voice response system. 

Accessibility request and feedback process

An accessibility request and feedback form is available as an online submission or downloadable PDF. You can also request a copy at any ACU branch. We’ll acknowledge receipt of the form within seven business days.

Employment at ACU

ACU welcomes all potential employees and is guided by accessible employment policies and practices. Policies are available upon request, in accessible formats.

Management responsibilities

Management is responsible for developing and implementing appropriate procedures and controls in compliance with The Accessibility for Manitobans Act, the Accessible Customer Service Standard and Accessible Employment Standard regulations — and for ensuring that employees are aware ACU’s responsibilities.
