Transactions

View transaction

Online banking

  1. Sign in to ACU’s online banking
  2. Select Accounts 
  3. Under Accounts, select View Transactions
  4. Select the account you want to view the transactions for

Mobile app

  1. Sign in to your ACU iOS or Android app
  2. Select Accounts from the bottom menu
  3. Select the account you want to view
  4. Select Transactions

To view more than 30 days of transactions, select the 'Filter' (magnifying glass) icon at the top right of the View Transactions screen and select the date range of the transactions you want to view. You can also filter by amount, cheque number, description and other categories.

Download transaction

  1. Sign in to online banking
  2. Select Accounts and select View accounts
  3. Select the arrow beside the account you want to view
  4. Select Transactions
  5. Select the Export icon at the bottom of the page
  6. Select the file format you want to export the transactions to and select

    Export

These file formats are available for export:

  • CSV*
  • PDF (PDF is the only program available with the mobile banking app)
  • QuickBooks (QFX)
  • Quicken (QFX)
  • Sage 50 (OFX)
  • Xero (OFX)

The appropriate software must be loaded on your personal computer to access the downloaded content. Please refer to the Help section in those programs for assistance. You can also refer to the program support website for further information and assistance.

Downloading transactions is only available in online banking.

Move money

Transfer funds

You can easily transfer money between your ACU accounts in just a few simple steps. 

Online banking

  1. Sign in to ACU’s online banking
  2. Select Transfers & Payments
  3. Under Transfers, select Transfer Funds
  4. Select the account you would like to transfer the funds from, the account you would like to transfer to, and enter the amount you would like to transfer
  5. Select the transfer type: Immediate, Scheduled (for a future date), or Recurring
  6. Select Continue
  7. Confirm transfer details and select Continue
  8. Select Done

Mobile app

  1. Sign in to your ACU iOS or Android app
  2. Select Move money from the bottom menu
  3. Select Transfers from the top menu
  4. Select Transfer Funds
  5. Select the account you would like to transfer the funds from, the account you would like to transfer to, and enter the amount you would like to transfer
  6. Select the transfer type: Immediate, Scheduled (for a future date), or Recurring
  7. Select Continue
  8. Confirm transfer details and select Continue
  9. Select Done

You can schedule transfers up to two years in advance, or have them repeat daily, weekly monthly, or yearly for up to 10 years. You can even make an RRSP or TFSA contribution by transferring into an existing RRSP or TFSA.  

You can also transfer funds onto your loan or mortgage to make payments on your principal, within the limits defined by your mortgage agreement.

Transfer to another member

You can transfer money to another ACU member’s account through digital banking. To set up a member-to-member transfer you require the 12-digit ACU account number for that member.

Online banking

  1. Sign in to ACU’s online banking
  2. Select Transfers & Payments
  3. Under Transfers, select Transfer Funds
  4. Select the account you would like to transfer the funds from
  5. Select the Transfer to: Another ACU member 
  6. Enter the members 12-digit account number you would like to transfer the funds to
  7. Enter the amount you would like to transfer
  8. Select the transfer type: ImmediateScheduled (for a future date), or Recurring
  9. Select Continue
  10. Confirm transfer details and select Continue
  11. Enter the One Time Passcode (OTP) you received to your email or text message and select Continue
  12. Select Done

Mobile app

  1. Sign in to your ACU iOS or Android app
  2. Select Move Money from the bottom menu
  3. Select Transfers from the top menu
  4. Select Transfer Funds
  5. Select the account you would like to transfer the funds from
  6. Select the Transfer to: Another ACU member 
  7. Enter the members 12-digit account number you would like to transfer the funds to
  8. Enter the amount the amount you would like to transfer
  9. Select the transfer type: Immediate, Scheduled (for a future date), or Recurring
  10. Select Continue
  11. Confirm transfer details and select Continue
  12. Enter the One Time Passcode (OTP) you received to your email or text message and select Continue
  13. Select Done 

 

Tip: You can save your member-to-member transfer as a favourite transaction. That way you won’t need to remember their 12-digit account number every time you want to transfer money to them.

Mobile deposit

Use your mobile app to deposit cheques to an eligible ACU Canadian savings or chequing account.

  1. Sign in to your ACU iOS or Android app
  2. Select Move Money
  3. Select Transfers from the top menu
  4. Select Mobile Deposit
  5. Select the account you would like to deposit funds into
  6. Enter the amount of the cheque
  7. Using your device, take a picture of the front and back of your cheque
  8. Select Continue
  9. Confirm deposit details and select Continue
  10. Select Done

Did you know?

  • The cheque can’t be drawn on the same account the funds are coming out of
  • The cheque can’t be post-dated or altered
  • Deposits need to be in Canadian funds drawn on a Canadian financial institution
  • All deposits should be payable to, and endorsed by, the account holder
  • The limit is $100,000 per cheque
  • Keep remotely deposited cheques in a safe place for 90 days, then destroy them 

The funds will immediately appear in your account, but normal hold times still apply for all deposited amounts.

 

Mobile deposit is only available through the mobile app. 

Interac e-Transfers®

With Interac e-Transfer you can receive and automatically deposit moneyUsing online or mobile banking, you can send money to anyone with:

  • An email address or mobile phone number
  • A bank account with a Canadian Financial Institution
  • Online banking access

Add recipient

To send someone an Interac e-Transfer, they need to be on your list of recipients.

  1. Sign in
  2. If you’re using online banking click Transfers & payments, under Interac e-Transfer select Manage contacts. If you’re using the mobile banking app, tap the Move money menu, at the top tap Interac e-Transfer and then Manage Contacts
  3. Click the Add contact button if you’re on ACU’s online banking, or if you’re using our app tap the + symbol (located in the top right corner) 
  4. Enter the recipient’s name, email address and/or mobile phone number and notification method
  5. Enter a security question that the recipient will know the answer to, as well as the security answer he or she must provide to receive and deposit the money
  6. Confirm your contact details
  7. This request requires an additional security step. Select how you want to receive your confirmation code
  8. Enter the confirmation code you received to confirm that you want to add this recipient and click Continue

Send an Interac e-Transfer

To begin using Interac e-Transfers you must have a profile created and the recipient added to you contact list.

  1. Sign in
  2. If you’re using online banking click Transfers & payments, under Interac e-Transfer select Manage contacts. If you’re using the mobile banking app, tap the Move money menu, at the top tap Interac e-Transfer and then Send
  3. Select the account you would like to transfer funds from
  4. Select the recipient and the amount of the transfer
  5. Click Continue

Be sure to let the recipient know the answer to the security question (but don't send it along with the transfer). Your account will be debited the transfer amount immediately, plus a service fee (if applicable).

Receive an Interac e-Transfer

To receive an Interac e-Transfer you must have a profile created.

  1. When someone sends you an Interac e-Transfer, you will receive a notification through email or text message
  2. Click on the link to access a secure Interac website. You will be taken to the Interac website and asked to select your financial institution
  3. Sign in to online banking or our mobile banking app
  4. Enter the answer to the security question and click Accept
  5. Select the account you would like the funds deposited into and click Continue
  6. Confirm transfer details and click Confirm

Set up Interac Autodeposit

The Interac Autodeposit feature allows you to have money sent via Interac e-Transfer automatically deposited directly into your ACU account, without having to answer a security question. 

  1. Sign in to ACU’s digital banking
  2. If you’re using online banking click Transfers & payments, under Interac e-Transfer select Manage contacts. If you’re using the mobile banking app, tap the Move money menu, at the top tap Interac e-Transfer and then Autodeposit settings
  3. Click the + symbol if you’re using our app, or the Add autodeposit button if you’re on ACU’s online banking
  4. Select what you want to register with and enter your mobile phone or email address
  5. Select the account where deposits will be made and check the box to acknowledge the statements
  6. Confirm autodeposit details and click Continue
  7. This request requires an additional security step. Select how you want to receive your authentication code
  8. Enter the confirmation code you received and click Continue
  9. You will receive an email or text message from Interac to complete the autodeposit registration. Click Complete registration

Request money

The Interac e-Transfer Request Money feature is not yet available on our new digital platform, but we are working on it.

Cancel an Interac e-Transfer

You can cancel pending, declined or expired transactions. 

  1. Sign in
  2. If you’re using online banking click Transfers & payments, under Interac e-Transfer select Manage contacts. If you’re using the mobile banking app, tap the Move money menu, at the top tap Interac e-Transfer and then History
  3. Click on the Pending transactions tab, choose the pending transfer you want to cancel and click the Cancel or “X” button
  4. Click Continue and confirm transaction details

Interac e-Transfer limits

With Interac e-Transfer® you can receive and automatically deposit moneyUsing online or mobile banking, you can send money to anyone with:

  • An email address or mobile phone number
  • A bank account with a Canadian Financial Institution
  • Online banking access

*Rolling limits are calculated by day and time the Interac e-Transfer is sent. For example, if the first transaction is sent at 11:30 am, “day” is calculated on the 24-hour rolling period which will end at 11:29 am the next day.

Pay bills

Add a new payee

You will need to add the bill payee before you can make a bill payment to that vendor. You only need to set up the payee once.

Online banking

  1. Sign in to ACU’s online banking
  2. Select Transfers & Payments
  3. Under Payments, select Manage Payees
  4. Select the Add payee
  5. Search for the name of the Payee
  6. Enter your account number with that Payee
  7. Select Continue
  8. Confirm transfer details and select Continue
  9. Enter the One Time Passcode (OTP) you received to your email or text message and select Continue
  10. Select Done

Mobile app

  1. Sign in to your ACU iOS or Android app
  2. Select Move Money
  3. Select Payments from the top menu
  4. Select Manage payees
  5. Select the “+” at the top right corner
  6. Search for the name of the vendor (company)
  7. Enter your account number with that vendor
  8. Select Continue
  9. Confirm transfer details and select Continue
  10. Enter the One Time Passcode (OTP) you received to your email or text message and select Continue
  11. Select Done

Pay a bill

To pay a bill, first create your payee list. If you're already set up to pay bills, then you're ready to go:

Online banking

  1. Sign in to ACU’s online banking
  2. Select Transfers & Payments
  3. Under Payments, select Pay Bills
  4. Select account you’d like to pay from
  5. Enter the payment amount beside the Payee you’d like to pay
  6. Enter the date you’d like to pay the bill
  7. Select Continue
  8. Confirm payment(s) details and select Continue
  9. Select Done

Mobile app

  1. Sign in to your ACU iOS or Android app
  2. Select Move Money
  3. Select Payments from the top menu
  4. Select Pay Bills
  5. Select Make Payments from the top menu
  6. Select account you’d like to pay from
  7. Select Add Payment
  8. Select Pay to and select the bill vendor (company)
  9. Enter the payment amount
  10. Change the payment date if you wish to schedule the bill payment for a future date
  11. Select Add payment 
  12. You can pay multiple bills at one time (out of the same account). To do this select Add another payment and follow the above steps to add additional bill payments.
  13. Select Continue
  14. Confirm payment(s) details and select Continue
  15. Select Done

Recurring bill payments

You can schedule a recurring bill payment up to three years in advance.

Online banking

  1. Sign in to ACU’s online banking
  2. Select Transfers & Payments
  3. Under Payments, select Pay Bills
  4. Select account you’d like to pay from
  5. Select Schedule Recurring Payments
  6. Select the Payee
  7. Select the frequency of the payments
  8. Select the date range for the recurring payments
  9. Select Continue
  10. Confirm payment(s) details and select Continue
  11. Select Done

Mobile app

  1. Sign in to your ACU iOS or Android app
  2. Select Move Money
  3. Select Payments from the top menu
  4. Select Pay Bills
  5. Select Recurring Payments from the top menu
  6. Select account you’d like to pay from
  7. Select Add Payment
  8. Select Pay to and select the bill vendor (company)
  9. Enter the payment amount
  10. Select the frequency of the payments
  11. Select the date range for the recurring payments
  12. Select Continue
  13. Confirm payment(s) details and select Continue
  14. Select Done

 

To make changes you will have to delete the payment series and re-add it with the correct details

 

Cancel bill payment

On a recurring payment series, you don’t have the ability to edit the “pay from” account, frequency, starting date, ending date, etc. To make changes you will have to delete the payment series and re-add it with the correct details.

Online banking

Mobile app

  1. Sign in to your ACU iOS or Android app
  2. Select Move Money
  3. Select Payments from the top menu
  4. Select View Schedule Payments
  5. Select the payment you want to delete
  6. Select Delete
  7. Select Delete

Payments that are visible in the Scheduled Payment menu can be cancelled online. If the payment is no longer visible you can contact us, prior to 8 p.m. the same day and we will attempt to cancel it for you.

Note: service fees may be applied.
